Garbanzo Bean Dip

Here is a recipe for a delicious bean dip made from garbanzo beans.

Ingredients

  • 15.5 oz. (439 g) can of garbanzo beans
  • 15.5 oz. (458 ml) can of water
  • 2 slices of onion
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon of basil flakes

Directions

Pour the can of Garbanzo beans into a pan and place it on the stove.

Chop up the two slices of onion and put into the beans.

Sprinkle the salt, ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder, and ¼ teaspoon of the basil flakes into the beans. Add the water.

Stir the beans, salt, garlic powder, basil flakes, and onions. Heat the mixture on the stove until it boils. After it boils, continue to heat the mixture for 25 minutes on medium high heat. You might need to add more water while it is boiling. So, watch the beans.

Pour off the liquid from the beans. Put the beans into a blender and sprinkle another ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder and another ¼ teaspoon of the basil flakes on the mixture. Blend it in a food processor or blender until it becomes a paste.

Serve with corn chips (crisps). Enjoy!
